Explorer and File Editing

Browsing remote files in Explorer

Use the Explorer to navigate folders, open files, manage tabs, and keep orientation on remote servers.

Last updated: 16 June 2026

How the Explorer works

Explorer loads the active connection root path and lets you open files directly into editor tabs. Open Editors, Outline, Timeline, and NPM Scripts appear below the main file tree when available.

Working safely in large trees

On shared or multi-site servers, confirm the root path and folder names before editing anything. A few extra seconds of orientation prevents editing the wrong site or environment.

File types

Text and code files open in Monaco. Images open as previews. PDFs and unsupported binary files open in guarded preview states so you do not end up reading corrupted binary data as text.
